The Doctoral School of Geography

The Doctoral School of Geography (DSG) represents the graduate program (doctoral and postdoctoral studies) at the Faculty of Geography.
It offers an interdisciplinary training programm at the crossroads between different paradigms specific to natural sciences (Physical Geography) and social sciences (Human Geography), promoting the formation of specialists in the management of territorial ressources (physical and human), and the protection and conservation of natural and built environment.
The research themes focus on the following main topics: climate changes; extreme weather events; urban climate; urban/rural landscape morphology, dynamics and aesthetics; territorial organisation and spatial planning; geography of settlements; touristic resources and sustainable development; regional development models.
DSG offers professional conditions for research providing access to all research facilities existing at the Faculty of Geography, offering research methodology trainings and summer schools, or resrearch stages abroad. The doctoral thesis can be realised in any of the major international languages (with focus on english), on the basis of international duble coordination.
